| ANN: Chapter O Homework in MyMathLab (MML) will be due this upcoming Monday, August 28. In class, students introduced themselves and I introduced the class with several policies and class details. I handed out the syllabus and we looked through the main points. You should read it thoroughly soon. You need to get MyMathLab (MML) set up as well; you will see instructions under MyMathLab and on the syllabus. I did a brief demonstration of my Website www.stlmath.com and the MML homework. I handed out the handout for our Math Resource Center which is our math tutoring location on campus. | |

ANN: Chapter O Homework in MyMathLab (MML) will be due this upcoming Monday, August 28. In class, we started the Class Notes for 1.1, getting through example 5. Even though this section's homework is not due for another week and a half, you may want to start on it as it is challenging and it may be hard to plug through it all in one day. I suggest working on a few problems each day or two through the week instead of waiting 'til the due date. |

During the Zoom session today, I stated that you should watch the videos for 1.2 and 1.3 I have under the Math 138 Class Notes. That MML homework will be due this upcoming Monday, Sep. 11. No questions were asked so I am not including the video of the Zoom meeting. We will discuss, possibly collect, the worksheets from 1.2 and 1.3 next week. |
| ANN: The 1.3 worksheet Carchip worksheet will be collected next time. It is good practice for making estimates from graphs. In class, we discussed the worksheet Magical Math Puzzles from 1.2. We then went on to start the Class Notes for 2.1, getting through the discussion on page 2 (halfway) of ellipses. This set of Notes has a chapter-wide reference sheet you can complete as we talk through the chapter and a worksheet that will be collected (but not yet). | |
